The Value of Time
There is no more or less valuable experience. Being locked in a white room with only a light switch, a bathroom, and a cabinet that gets refilled with food every time you sleep for a year is exactly as valuable as spending a year as the head of a Fortune 500 company. The value is not in what is done, but experiencing it. You cannot buy the experience of knowing only yourself for a year. You cannot buy the experience of constant bustle and being the head of a thing so much larger than an individual. The time spent is equivalent in value.
A homeless man will experience joy and loss equal to the greatest kings that have ever lived. For we are all human. we are all experiencing one moment at a time. The trick is in understanding that fact, and rejoicing in it. For I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me is to say, “No matter what may come, I can find joy in experiencing it, for I understand it is all a part of God. It is my gift and my curse to know this moment, and it is my choice to accept it as a gift”
Money is cheap.
Your time is priceless.
Make it a great day, or not. The choice is yours.
